U.S. SECURE FLIGHT PROGRAM

In compliance with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Secure Flight program, Air Pacific kindly reminds customers that as of Monday November 1st 2010, the airline is obligated to refuse carriage for any US-bound passengers who have not completed the mandatory documentation and information as required by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Air Pacific urges all U.S.-bound passengers on Los Angeles or Honolulu services to verify booking details before new personal information rules take effect on November 1.

For bookings made directly with Air Pacific, please contact our 24/7 Contact Centre on 6720888 or 3304388. For bookings made with local Travel agents, please contact your Travel Agent directly.

Under the new secure flight program, all travelers to/from the US must provide the same full name as appears on their passports, date of birth and gender when bookings are made. The information will be used by the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to matchlist them against the American (No Fly) watch list. Any positive match against the watch list may result in refusal of entry into the US. Some passengers may be required to go through extra Security checks as a result.

According to an official TSA announcement, TSA assures all passengers that the privacy of individuals’ information is a cornerstone of the Secure Flight program. TSA collects the minimum amount of personal information necessary to conduct effective watch list matching. Their announcement further states that all personal data will be handled in accordance with stringent guidelines and all applicable privacy laws and regulations.

All Air Pacific customers needing further information should call our Call Centre on telephones 3304388 or 6720888.
