Things to do in Apia:

Lalamanu Beach:

Snow-white sandy beach backed by impressive green mountains and sparkling water, Lalamanu Beach is complemented with the atmosphere of a small village, with small bungalows lining the sand in a relaxed ambiance.

Fishing:

Hit the seas and wrangle anything from a Yellowfin to a Marlin, Samoa’s clear waters make for some great fishing adventures.

Apia Harbour & Mulinu’u Peninsula Historic Walk:

A half-day walk takes in points of interest around Apia harbour beginning at Aggie Grey's Hotel and ending at Mulinu'u Peninsula with its sacred burial grounds.

Palolo Deep Marine Reserve:

An excellent spot for swimming, diving and snorkeling. The highlight is a sudden drop into a deep blue hole, surrounded by walls of coral populated by a vast array of tropical fish.

Day Tours & Cruises:

Head out of town to explore the breathtaking scenery, cultural ceremonies and leisure activities.

Historic Sites:

The Samoa Visitors Bureau has information about historic monuments, including the 1962 Independence Memorial, the German, British and American memorials, and the tombs of several influential Samoan figures. Included in the latter is the mausoleum of Tupua Tamasese and the seven-tiered tombs of the Tu'imaleali'ifano dynasty.

Markets:

Apia's Flea Market, located on the site of the old central market building at Beach Road sells a wide range of handcrafts, clothing and shell jewellery. The Fish Market is also present, hidden behind the flea market. The colourful Maketi Fou (food market) is on Fugalei Street and is the best place to buy fresh local produce and sample local dishes such as palusami and koko Samoa.

Watersports:

Apia Yacht Club near the end of Mulin'u Peninsula is the best contact for sailing and windsurfing on renowned Apia Harbour. Many resorts hire out boats and boards, and some have outrigger canoes.
