What to expect:A long driveway flanked by palm trees leads to the porte-cochère of the Tanoa International Hotel. Holidaymakers, corporate and convention guests, many from Australia and New Zealand, North America, Europe, and Japan, congregate in the open lobby. Carved wooden screen and Fijian artworks decorate the public areas, which are surrounded by landscaped gardens.

Insider tip: The hotel lies less than twenty minutes drive from the Garden of the Sleeping Giant in the highlands north of Nadi. This landscaped garden has a wide variety of native Fijian plants, native forest and lily ponds. The garden was developed in the 1970s by TV star Raymond Burr of Perry Mason fame. The small house adjacent is open to the public and houses memorabilia from the actor's life.

Conference/function room(s):Tanoa International Hotel has a main 213-square-metre convention centre that holds 250 guests in theatre style and 100 in classroom style, and can be divided in two. There are two adjacent breakout rooms, as well as an 86-square-metre veranda that can host 80 guests for banquets. Two additional meeting rooms, the Tanoa and Talei rooms, are 130 square metres and can host 150 in theatre style or 80 in classroom style. All full range of audiovisual equipment is available.
