About Us

Air Pacific believes in giving back to the community and having a good standing within the community.

Wings of Hope is our charity arm, which is funded from contributions from our passengers, that focuses on key projects within the local community. Projects completed under the Wings of Hope programme include the renovation and equipping of the  Children's Ward within the Nadi Hospital, the construction of a boy's hostel in a rural school located some 40 minutes from Nadi town and a mini-bus for the Hilton Special School.

Another initiative is our Kids Fly Free (disabled & needy children) for a day program.

Hilton Special School

Hilton Special School of the Suva Crippled Children Society was the second beneficiary of its Wings of Hope Programme for 2009.

Wings of Hope, the charity and community arm of the national airline, has donated a new Mazda 15 seat mini-van for the Suva branch of the Fiji Crippled Children Society.

Hilton Special School, the first special school for handicapped children in Fiji, was established in 1963 and currently has a roll of 124 students; which includes 50 early intervention children, located at the Early Intervention Centre at Brown Street.  The society is a charitable organisation which provides treatment and education for children with physical disabilities and hearing impairments.  They also operate a hostel for children for outer areas of Fiji where no special education resources are available.

Hilton Special School wrote to Air Pacific requesting financial assistance for the purchase of a mini-bus.  The school currently operates two mini-buses, one 12 years and the other 15 years old, requiring constant maintenance.  The donation from Wings of Hope will replace the older of the two buses, providing transportation to and from Hilton Special School and the Early Intervention Centre as these special children are unable to travel by public transport.

Air Pacific is grateful for the approval of the Ministry of Finance and National Planning for the waiver of duty on the mini-van which made the donation affordable and for the generosity of its customers whose donations of unwanted coins and bank notes made the purchase possible.
